Our pets are important to us. The death of a family pet can cause grief and a ceremony for burial or cremation can be helpful in acknowledging the loss, and the love and joy a pet has brought to those affected.  To enfold and wrap your beloved pet in the tactile warmth of wool felt pet shroud for burial can be comforting.  It is permissible to bury your pet in your garden.  There are rules, however, about burial in public areas.  Just as with humans, natural burial is always the most environmentally friendly.

Design details

We make a standard range of pet shrouds from small to large.  The medium and large sizes have wooden slats sewn into the base and felt straps, to help support the body during burial.  The medium and large shrouds are also open at the side to make it easier to place your pet.

The larger size pet shrouds are folded around your pet from four edges. The extra small pet shroud for burial are more like pouches, closing with a handmade wooden toggle and can be used for rodents, small reptiles, birds and other very small pets. 

We would always recommend burial as it’s better for the environment, and a felt shroud keeps the body safely in the earth, letting Nature do her work in the time-honoured way, but this may not be feasible for you if you do not have access to a garden or land.

Please send us the measurement (length nose to tail base and height to shoulder for a mammal, beak to tail end for a bird) and we will make a pouch to measure. 

For extra large or extra small sizes, price is on application.
