The Leafcocoon
The Leafcocoon is the most environmentally friendly option for a burial. An alternative to a conventional coffin, the simplicity and directness of being wrapped in a soft woolly shroud or cocoon brings us gently back to our connection with Nature. We are part of Nature, not apart from her, and this is the simplest and most eloquent expression of this connection. The materials are sourced from these isles and certified either organic (the cream felt) or regenerative (the natural brown felt). The thickness and folded layers of felt give a smooth outline, unlike a conventional cloth wrap and more like a papoose. The Leafcocoon can be used in any cemetery, churchyard, natural burial ground or home burial. As with all my products, it is entirely plastic-free.
An adapted board can be provided if this is for a cremation. Please ask for details and charge for this. Delivery for this option is £110.
Design details
The Leafcocoon - A woolly papoose-like shroud of warm, comforting felt. Flaps for the head and feet are tucked in, and two ample sides wrap and cocoon the body.
This product has passed the FFMA Test Protocol. Approval Code: 5470 - 003336. This is certified and approved for use in any burial ground, cemetery or crematorium.
The Leafcocoon for burial: £610 with sturdy integrated proofed frame lined with waterproof paper with some natural padding for absorbency. 100% natural materials for biological breakdown, leaving no trace, and hand made with low-impact, locally sourced materials. The 3 sets of handles are very strong with felt covered wood which prevents hand crushing.
Normal sizes are held in stock for quick despatch. However, extra large or small frames can be made within a short time frame to fit and carry any size.
For cremation: £635, this version has an external board, also with 3 sets of handles.
The basic Leafcocoon without handles/bier can be used on it’s own for use in a coffin - £275
Leaf shaped cover - An optional leaf shaped cover is optional; £75 plain, or £95 with a three-leaf decoration of naturally dyed felt. If you are local to Devon, you might like to consider an in person decorating session at the studio or a decorating kit.. Please contact Yuli to find out more.
Felt decoration kits are available for you and your family/friends to decorate the leaf-shaped cover.

Delivery to mainland UK: approximately £75. Please allow 48 delivery time. This means that 3 working days are needed from time of ordering. Extra large sizes, or deliveries to Northern regions of UK may increase delivery cost. Postage for the shroud alone is £20. We use recycled packaging.
