Therapy through making

It is uplifting and cathartic to hear about a positive way of coping with the enormity of impending loss of someone you love. This is a beautiful story from Deborah about how she has found her creativity and comfort from her husbands terminal illness diagnosis by designing and embroidering a wool felt shroud cover. Despite his blindness, Deborah has involved her husband in the process, through touch and discussion.

Perhaps you have a similar story you would like to share. Do get in touch, I’d love to hear it and I could even include it in my next newsletter!

I am coming to the end of a very busy and heartening week in a pop-up shop here in Chagford, part of the annual "Dying Matters Week”, promoted by Hospicecare. I’ve run a workshop at Make Southwest and if you are on Instagram you will see the work in progress. This was an intentional workshop, and led to some lovely discussion about Life, Death… and whatever!

If you have signed up for this newsletter, you may already be aware of the unique enterprise that Bellacouche is, and I try hard to explain what I do, but if you have any questions I welcome you to get in touch by phone, email or on Instagram.
